Win an $80 Etsy Gift Card for Christmas Shopping

Today’s post is just a little bit exciting. This Christmas our traditional giant of bricks and mortar retailing, David Jones Sydney, and online marketplace Etsy have teamed up to create an amazing event.

Unwrap Etsy at David Jones will be a 4 day special event from the 4th December where shoppers can browse unexpected art, homewares, and gifts from over 40 Australian Etsy makers.

There will be hands-on creative workshops, as well as the opportunity to watch Etsy sellers create their goods at a live maker’s studio. All this while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat, my kind of shopping experience!

To celebrate this unique event, Etsy is offering one lucky Gallop Lifestyle reader an AUD$80 gift voucher to help with their Christmas shopping. To enter the give away simply leave a comment below explaining why you would love to shop handmade this Christmas*. Entries close Tuesday 02 December at noon EDST.

Access to Unwrap Etsy at David Jones is free but you do need to register to guarantee a spot. Click here for more.

  1. I love Etsy and their unique offerings from art to collectables, homewares, stationery and kids toys, plus all the gifts are handmade with the $ going directly back into the hands of the maker. The fact you can personalise gifts make them so much more special, something that's important, especially at Christmas. I would appreciate the chance to win the voucher. Thanks, Ineke

  5. I love Etsy and can't wait to shop at this Etsy market - all my Christmas presents will be sorted! It's also a real treat to meet some of the creators behind the beautiful and unique Etsy wares. Please can this become an annual pre-Christmas market event?!!

  6. I'm finding Etsy to be a fantastic source of Christmas gifts, because with the huge variety of handmade and adorable items the site offers, I can find presents that represent exactly who each of my friends and family members are! Living overseas and being twelve thousand plus kilometres away from many of the people I love the most, it's especially important for me to find gifts that really speak to them and keep me in their hearts year round. When I'm finally back home in a few weeks, I can't wait to see their faces when they open their Etsy gifts! Plus, it feels great to support small business owners who are pursuing their artistic passions through their Etsy shops. Really looking forward to seeing what the sellers at Unwrap Etsy at David Jones have in store for us!

  7. I'm taking a very mindful and planned approach to Christmas this year as its been too easy to get swept away in last minute excessive consumerism in the past. I'd also like to set a good example to my young children about purchasing locally made, handmade thoughtful gifts. Our future generations of talented handmakers! I love etsy!

  9. I have been so excited about this event. I am about to launch my first etsy store in the new year and have so much for our local makers and would love to support them and have a little bit of their creative heart to put into my home, to spur me along on my own creative adventure.

  10. Such a hard choice as everyone had such great entries. I've decided to choose Ineke Walker, who was the first to comment and who pointed out that shopping on Etsy sees the money going back into the hands of the creative makers. Well done Ineke, please send your email address to annie@galloplifestyle.com.au and we will get a voucher to you. Annie x
