This week I'm loving... Safomasi textile design

I closely follow the journey of online store Twofold, as it is a great source of contemporary textile designs from across the world. This week they added an Indian based designer to their range, which I love.

Safomasi brings together the talents of a young couple - illustrator Sarah Fotheringham (SaFo) and Maninder Singh (MaSi), who has a background in fashion. The pair draws inspiration from their travels throughout India to create a delightful range of cushions and quilts.

Their designs interpret all the colours and textures of India - brightly coloured turbans, vibrant Indian sweets, and the silk in beautiful saris can be seen in the range.

Based in New Delhi, Safomasi is closely connected to the printers, dyers and sewers who hand-make their textiles. Truly a family affair, Maninder's grandmother makes the pom poms, which add an extra touch of whimsey to their cushions.

Each item is printed and made by hand. The Safomasi cushions are priced at $60 each, and their stunning quilts are $250.

Make sure you check out their range online at Twofold.
