Design Business // E-decorator Nest Designs

Yesterday we posted on a lovely Melbourne based designer specialising in baby & kid's rooms. As an online homewares store, we are really keen to learn more about the concept of e-decorating, and build our virtual network!

Today we were delighted to chat to the lovely Emma from Nest Designs, who offers options for all rooms.

GL // Why did you start your business, and what is the ethos behind Nest Designs?

ND // While working for an interior designer who did full interior design fit outs, I realised not everyone wants a full design fit out, and not everyone can afford to completely re-decorate all at once. I wanted to be able to offer an affordable interior decorating service for homeowners and renters on a budget. I also loved the idea of being able to help people all across Australia decorate their home and that’s where the idea of e-decorating came from. Not everyone in rural areas has access to an interior designer so by offering e-decorating, my services are available to absolutely anyone!

GL // What services do you provide and what are the general costs associated?

ND // I provide a number of different services - e-decorating nation-wide, in home decorating, pre-sale property styling, furniture and fabric sourcing, expat set ups for anyone who has just relocated to Sydney, and investment packages for those looking to rent their investment property fully furnished. My rates really vary on the scope of the job but e-decorating starts at $180 per mood board, in-home and pre-sale property styling consultations are $150, and furniture and fabric sourcing is free!

GL // What are the most popular requests you receive?

ND // Often people are only looking for a few key items to complete their homes and don’t want a full makeover, so the most commonly requested service is furniture sourcing, closely followed by e-decorating in rural and metro areas around the country.

And here is Emma's mood board styling accessories from the Gallop Lifestyle store, ideas perfect for a feminine bedroom.
